Rev Run

Today's tweet has the potential of being very short and sweet. For those of you who are on twitter you need to follow RevRenWisdom. And these are the reasons why...

'ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS forgive! Man! That annoys ur ememies!'

'Dont be a know it all! Be open! Use ur mind like a parachute.. If u dont keep it open. U crash!!'

'wanna test ur memory, try to remember what u was worryin about 1 yr ago today... worryin is about as useful as tryin to crazzy glue a handle to a snow ball!'

'an ounce of encouragement when somone's down is worth more than a ton of praise when they're up!'

These are just some of his tweets. He has words of wisdom, and sometimes just logging into twitter and reading one of his tweets calms me. Even if these particular ones don't apply to you or whatever, he tweets about everything, even 'french fries'.

'Friends'

It's very funny, I watched this video a while ago that basically said, if you want to know who your true friends are then disappear. Now what this means is that you delete all social networking sites, don't call anybody and don't go out.

Now we get to the 'funny' bit. Recently, my phone broke and my laptop broke and so I was unable to contact anyone. So I though about trying this 'disappearing' thing and deleted my facebook account but kept my Twitter account just in case.

The point of this experiment was to see how many people would actually try and contact you when you 'disappeared'. So at some point during the week I managed to get a phone and put my sim card in it to see how many people had text or called me and I had none. Meanwhile the only people who actually asked my boyfriend where I'd gone where his Godbrothers.

But I was prepared to forget that no one seemed to care about me because sometimes people can be busy.

However, recently it seems to me that people are SELF CENTERED. And I am starting to feel hate towards the very people who I was so happy to be friends with in the first place.

If I went through every year of school (that I remember) and told you who I was friends with, the names would change so much you wouldn't be able to keep count.

Looks like Uni is the same.

VMA's 2009

Being at uni and not having a tv I did not really think I would get to watch this years VMA's or even hear much about it, apart from the occasional tweet on twitter. However there seems to be so much controversy, and its all around the wrong thing.

Everyone seems to be going on about Kanye West's bid for attention in which he stormed on stage and snatched the microphone from taylor swift, who just won best female video and was giving her acceptance speech. He then proceed to tell everyone that Beyonce's vid for single ladies was the best video ever and he walked off the stage.

Now that in the words of Paul was a 'par'. However, why has nobody said anything about Jack Black's prayer to satan. Everywhere I've searched has like one line on it or even nothing at all. Why does nobody care about that? And what about Lady Gaga who aparantly sacrificed herself? I don't care if you are religious or not, but if I went into Kingston town centre and did that everyone would think I was mad! But because they are celebrities they get away with this behaviour and everyone thinks its a gimmick. Well I'm here to tell you it was not a gimmick. Full stop. If you would like to worship satan with these people then go right ahead. Have fun! x

What a life...

Sitting here as I have been the last couple of days, I began to think of all the things I could be doing with my life. Why is it that I find myself here, at this place in my life where I am stuck. AGAIN. I am not happy with my course at uni because it is BORING, but I will continue to do it because I want to get a degree. My dreams of being an author will not come to pass because I can not even get the motivation nor a good enough idea to actually write a novel. I am going to be 21 in just over a month and I can't even afford to celebrate it. There are a lot of other thing but it would take a lot of time to write and wouldn't be worth it really.

So what do I do? How do I change things so that I can move forward in life? I can't bear this anymore...

Pay it forward

Before I write this I just want to say how good it feels to have my laptop back!

Right now, back to business! While my laptop was getting fixed I thought I would catch up on my reading and so I went to the library to borrow some books. One of the books I borrowed was 'Pay it forward' by Catherine Ryna Hyde. Now I am not here to write about this book, because most people will not care, but rather I am writing about the concept of 'paying it forward' which is in the book.

Basically the idea is that one person starts of the chain, and does three big favours for three people. These favours need to be big, like things you would do for your family and maybe your closest friends. Then, instead of saying to these people 'you have to pay it back' you tell them that they have to 'pay it forward' meaning that they have to do a very big favour for three more people. Eventually it adds up, and everyone ends up doing favours for everyone else.

Now I think that is a marvellous system. However, would it work? Would people really pay it forward or would they just be grateful not to have to pay it back? I was having a discussion with someone about it, and they told me that they would never do it because they would feel as if they were being taken for a mug. That explains it all really doesn't it.

I just think that if people are looking for ways to change the world, then starting off small can always work!
